Born in 1981 in the Ukraine, Andrej has developed as one of the leading ucrainian musicians of his generation. As a soloist and leader of the renowned Szymanowski Quartet he has recorded for Naxos, Cpo, Avi-Music, Hänssler Classics and Hyperion.

As a soloist he collaborated with such renowned Orchestras as the New Japan Philharmonic, Orchestra National de Radio France, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, Kiev Philharmonic and Münchner Kammerorchester under the baton of established conductors such as Kurt Masur, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Gianandrea Noseda, Miguel Gomez-Martinez, Christian Arming, Agnieszka Duzcmal, Junichi Hirokami und Christoph Poppen, to name a few of them.

He received his first violin lessons at the age of five and in 1993 attended the special music boarding school in Kiev. Having recognized his talent Prof. Michael Kuzniezow put up the eleven-year-old boy and took care of his further violin education. Already at an early age Andrej started to perform carefully selected concerts in Europe and USA.

At the age of 15 Andrej settled over in Germany to study with Prof. Krzysztof Wegrzyn at the University of Music and Drama in Hannover. Further musical education followed with Gerard Poulet at the  Conservatoire Nationale Superieur-CNR Paris, Herman Krebbers, Silvia Marcovici and Ida Haendel.

Andrej Bielow is a prizewinner of several international competitions such as the Long-Thibaut Paris  , ARD Munich, Hannover Violin Competition (Joachim) and others. Recently, due to his extraordinary talent and musical qualities he was awarded various scholarships from the cultural institutions such as the Ukrainian Culture Foundation, Theodor Lessing Foundation, Foundation Kulturregion Hannover,  Gerd-Bucerius-ZEIT-Foundation, Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and Förderpreis of the Lower Saxony.

In 2005 together with jazz-guitarist Johan Weiß he founded the „MBF“ (Musik braucht Freunde) Foundation that provides financial support for students in need at the University of Music and Drama Hannover.
Andrej Bielow loves chamber music and feels attached to musicians who share his passion.
As a chamber musician he was a guest at the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Niedersächsische Musiktage, Kuhmo Chamber Musik Festival, Festival Mecklenburg Vorpommern  and many others. At the Kronberg Acadamy he performed with Gidon Kremer, Juri Bashmet and the Beaux Arts Trio.
Since November 2005 he has been the leader of the established Szymanowski Quartett and took a teaching position at the University of Music and Drama Hannover. Since then he regularly gives masterclasses in Europe, Asia and USA.

Andrej plays a Guarneri Joseph Filius violin from the „Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben“.
